Using the Student Drive
The student drive is available on all COE computer lab machines via the My Computer icon. This is a network drive, so you can access it from any machine in the computer lab. Anyone can save files on this drive. Everything on the drive is deleted every Friday.
All guidelines of ISU's appropriate use policy apply to use of the COE Student Drive.
A black and white laser printer and a color laser printer are available for your use for a small fee.
Printing fee:
The Lab does not collect cash as payment, but instead uses a prepaid Print Card.
Your first Print Card entitles you to $1 worth of free printing. (Limit 1 card per person, per lifetime.) At the time you pick up your first Print Card, lab staff will ask you to show your student identification. We will enter your ULID into our database and give you a Print Card. Please make sure you print your name on it in the space provided.
Each time you collect your printed pages from the main desk, show us your Print Card and the cost of your printing will be deducted from it.
When you need a new Print Card, stop by the main desk to receive a blank receipt to take to Student Accounts. You will pay Student Accounts the amount you want your card to be worth. They will stamp your receipt, which you should bring back to the lab in order to get a new Print Card.
If you have a desire for helping people, an interest in working 10 to 20 hours per week, and would like to improve your technology skills, the College of Education Computer Lab technician/consultant position may be for you. Learn more about the job expectations.
