Hall of Fame

Many graduates and friends of the College of Education at Illinois State University are recognized both locally and nationally as leaders in the field of education. Others are awarded for their outstanding contribution to education in the classroom. We are proud of their contributions, and are excited to share their accomplishments with you.

Nominate someone for the Hall of Fame

The College of Education seeks nominations to the Hall of Fame program. Please take a few minutes to reflect on your friends and colleagues who are deserving of this recognition. Honorees have succeeded in changing lives in unexpected ways. Most do so quietly, with little recognition. Others are nationally recognized, yet remain unsung heroes closer to home. Help us honor their careers by nominating someone you know.

Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. The College will review completed nominations for recognition each year in June.

Criteria for Hall of Fame recipient selection

Criteria will include consideration of:

  • signature career achievements
  • accumulated career contributions to education (for retired and near end-of-career individuals)
  • national and international impact
  • contributions to education beyond expectations and responsibilities of positions held
  • direct positive impact on the achievement or condition of children
  • current employees of Illinois State University are not eligible

Up to seven honorees will be inducted into the College of Education Hall of Fame. The few individuals selected will be publicly honored at a Hall of Fame induction ceremony held during Homecoming Weekend. The weekend will include other events and opportunities to network and become reacquainted with the College.
